Why it Matters

A good Orthotic device often improves quality of life and independence.

Orthotic devices are especially important for children with disabilities, to enable them to “grow straight” and have the best chance of independence in later life.

When there are problems getting the right device quickly, patients are often in pain and discomfort which may cause them to lose the ability to function as they normally can. This can mean that someone who can usually walk may not be able to walk as far, or even at all. This can have a devastating effect on life for the whole family.
