Urgent: Write to your MP to help us get NHS Orthotics Provision in England examined by the Parliamentary Health Select Committee of the House of Commons. Read more here.

What is Orthotics?

The Orthotics service assesses for, measures and provides devices that support bones or muscles. These could be, for example, special shoes, insoles, splints, or fabric supports. Orthotics devices are needed for people who have a certain medical conditions or physical disabilities. When used properly and at the right time, these orthoses can reduce pain and make joints stable. This can help to prevent deformities and enables people to move well.

Who we are

We are a group of service users and their families and carers, who feel let down by the level of Orthotics Service provided at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Together we want to work towards improving the situation.
